La La Land - The latest from the silverscreen

motoreasy reviews - La La Land with Ryan Gosling

If you wondered why La La Land was on the cover of Free Car Mag, well, we knew it was going to be a staggeringly successful film.

Indeed, it has dominated the Golden Globes. In all La La Land won 7 Golden Globes, breaking the record for the most Golden Globes won by a single film.

In addition to best director and best screenplay, “La La Land” swept the 74th Golden Globe Awards with best comedy picture, best score, best song and best actor nods to Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

By winning the Golden Globe for comedy picture, “La La Land” attained its seventh win, surpassing the record of six awards held by “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” (1975) and “Midnight Express” (1978).

Record breaking 7 Golden Globes wins & 11 BAFTA nominations.

According to the star Ryan Gosling, “I was really intrigued by the fact that Damien (The Director) wanted to make a film in the style of that Fred and Ginger and Gene Kelly eras, because those are the musicals that move me. The fact that he wanted this film to have that kind of aesthetic and spirit of playfulness was fantastic because it was also a secret wish of mine to make a film like that.”

For co-star Emma Stone, “The idea of telling this really modern story of two struggling artists -- but in a 1950s-style musical version of today’s Los Angeles -- became something really exciting to me very quickly.”

Whatever else comes to the silver screen this year, here is our favourite film, possibly ever. Essentially it is a film about cars disguised as a musical. Hopefully, they will put that quote on the posters. To find out so much more and read what Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and John Legend had to say about this cracker of a film, flick to the latest issue of Free Car Mag

Enjoy.
